Hi everyone,
I created a video for my grandfather’s Celebration of Life that was held last Saturday, and am sending this out so those who weren’t there can see it.
A few notes:
– My grandfather is the youngest of 2 boys, so he is the smaller one in many of the early photos
– The photo at 2:32 is of him, his older brother Guy, and Guy’s childhood best friend waiting to see Charles Lindbergh in Oakland after his Transatlantic flight
– The songs in the video were all requested by my grandfather in his last weeks. The final song held a special significance to him – at his retirement ceremony in South Africa in 1977, the dealer group sang it to him as a surprise
– As you can see in the video, my grandfather’s continuing themes in life were old cars and planes, along with family
I kept this email list short with the intention that it would be passed on, so feel free to send this to anyone else who you think might be interested.
I miss him already, but I know he lived a long and adventure-filled life that I am proud to have been a part of – and there is certainly no shortage of photos and great memories of him.
