Marty Berger

WOOSTER Ward H. Ward H. Wooster, 92, of Toledo, OH and formerly of Strongsville, OH, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Promedica Ebeid Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Ward was born on February 17, 1920, in Somerville, MA to Harvey A. and Enola (Ward) Wooster. He was a graduate of Oberlin High School and attended Miami University, Oxford, OH. On August 8, 1942, in Lawrence, Long Island, NY, he married Virginia Hahn.

Ward served his country in theU.S. Navy duringWorld War II, where he served as a flight radio officer, serving in 17 different countries. Following his military service, Ward was employed as a radio officer for Pan American Airways. Ward owned and operated Mobile Communications of Toledo from 1954 to 1976, where he served as a consultant and representative for Motorola. He obtained his pilots license and operated his own plane for over fifty years. He was a member of the QB Pilot Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the guitar and amused people by playing the musical saw. His true passion was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ward is survived by his wife of 69 years, Virginia; children, Christine (Warren) Monday and Leslie (Jay) Black; grandchildren, Laura (Ted) Black, Michelle (Eric) Smith, Michael (Melissa) Monday, and Stephanie (Drew Ries) Black; along with 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alden Wooster, and sister, Enola Hicks. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin, OH.
