Marc Lloyd Bennett, 76, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.  Born July 25, 1937 in Lincoln, Neb., he was the son of the late Richard Owen II and Eleanor Elizabeth Thomas Bennett.  He was of the Methodist faith.  

He was a 1955 graduate of Taft High School in Chicago, Ill. He was a 1959 graduate from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., with a Bachelor's degree and a ROTC Commission from the Air Force.

He became a pilot for the Air Force in 1960. In 1963 he was re-commissioned as a Captain in the Air Force. In 1965 he served in the Aerial Combat in the Vietnam War. Although still flying in the Air Force Reserve, he left active duty to begin his career as a pilot for Pan American World Airlines in 1966. He spent his career flying different places around the world. His wife frequently traveled with him. He retired in 1992 from Pan Am as a pilot.

He liked landscaping and gardening.

He is survived by one daughter, Debra Stutts, Hagerstown, Md.; one son, Richard Bennett III, Berkeley Springs; one granddaughter, Kelsey Bennett, Berkeley Springs and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Sandra Richards Bennett and one brother, Richard Bennett. .
