Robert (Bob) Carl Arnholt,



Robert (Bob) Carl Arnholt, age 91,  Dec. 23, 1922 – May 25, 2014, passed away at his home in Pinecrest, FL.

Bob was born in Loudonville, OH to J.Olin and Helen Arnholt and married his college sweetheart, Carmita (Kitty), who passed away in 1998 after 53 years of marriage.

He entered Wittenberg University to study music and voice after graduating high school but was called away to war before graduating.  Enlisting in the US Army Air Corps, he was trained as a pilot and served the Allied effort in Italy during WWII commanding a B-24 Liberator with the 461st Bomb Group.  He met Carmita at Wittenberg and they married prior to the war’s end.  After the war he flew commercially with Pan American Airways for 35 years, retiring in 1982.

Bob and Carmita are survived by their three children, Robert, Kerida, and John; ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Adam, Katherine, Dane, Gretchen, Emily, Daniel, John, Matthew, and Catherine; eleven great-grandchildren, Mack, Jake, Adison, Alex,  Bryce, Presley, Jenna, Kailey, Larkin, Jacob, and Anna.

While Bob was dedicated to his aviation career, music remained his passion throughout his life.  He used his talents with church choirs and was a consistent supporter of South Florida operatic efforts and performances.

He was known by most as being a “nice guy” and loved by many.
